MS Removal Tool Malware
« on: April 14, 2011, 12:35:20 AM »
The computer at my church, running Avast Internet Suite (pay version) became infected with MS REMOVAL TOOL MALWARE.

Should Avast protected us from that?

We did have some older, outdated, not used AV programs, on the hard drive which have since been removed.

I'd love to hear your comments.  Educate me please...

;D Had the virus yesterday and read that a restore will work.
Did a restore to previous day and it worked fine. :D
Did a complete system scan and it was clean. :D  :D

I also had a system backup on Norton Ghost I could of used.

System Restore is NOT a method for removing malware effectively.

Indeed. Not even close. It's not even a good system restore :P

A system image stored on an external HDD is the best system restore you can buy.
