Unable to get streaming updates

Well I am back again... ::)  The past several days I have been having an issue of not being able to get a connection established for the 'cloud services'.  Several times I have just rebooted and it seemed to connect, but this evening, it is trying to connect and runs through a series of Avast IP addresses but will not stay connected.
Any idea of what my problem may be?
Intel Core2Duo E4500/Win7 HomePremium SP1/ Avast IT Security 17.5.2303 /Firefox 54.0.2 /NoScript/AdBlockPlus/MBAM and WinPatrol free(all up to date)

my also does not connect permanently, but it does connect to the cloud often every now and then.
(under maintenance, u should be able to see 'Latest update received:*date and time*' below 'Connection:')

thats how it has been working for me at least from since the last minor version update.

i tested filerep under these conditions and it seems to me it is working (i do get filerep warning on low prevalence files)
