Yes.  Avast alone is taking up to 127 seconds to load.

Yes iv noticed it's a little bit slower at bootup and when i first open my browser after boot can take about 8/10 second's with webrep installed, usually it's instant.

This seems to be resolved.  My last few boots had avast about 36-40 seconds--not the over 100 seconds as before.  Nothing has changed other than the latest release has been installed.

Don't know what happened but I'm back to 121 seconds for avast to load during boot.  This is recent and has been getting longer again.  The time before it was 61 seconds.  Using 6.0.1044.

all these security suites, Avast or any other one, make boot times longer. Drivers are loading, there's nothing to do against that. While this shouldn't make much difference on the fastest systems this remains quite noticeable on average systems, ie the majority. I've never been really happy about that, especially when for any reason I uninstall Avast and realize how faster my system boots ;D

You can change how Avast loads in the settings. Select load after start up. My laptop boots faster with Avast then with NIS,KIS or CIS.

Try defragging your HDD and boot files. Use Smart Defrag for this.

I understand that any program adds to the boot time, but I'm wondering why avast is now taking a lot longer than it used to.  It used to be about 40 seconds, then went up to 120, back down with one of the pre-releases, and now for some reason went back up.

Did another boot and avast loaded in 37 seconds.  I hope it stays there!

Is anyone using latest version of Avast suddenly experiencing a very slow system startup? I am running Windows 7 x64 SP1.

I'm also experiencing this.. At first I thought it was only my pc.. seems like others are also experiencing it. Before asking any questions, No, I dont have many programs that load on startup.. SAS and MBAM are there but only one of them loads at startup and it wasnt always like this.. last week it was a lot faster.. Maybe it has something to do with an update? (Avast or Windows?)  I also noticed that my computer wont shut down properly at times.. it logs off from windows and says shutting down but nothing happens  :-\  (this happened a several times recently)

The other thing I noticed is, when I have a scan running on Avast, if I go afk for long, my screen saver loads, display gets turned off. Then I cant it back on till I press and hold the power button.. I dont think the computer goes to 'sleep' but it doesnt 'wake up'...  Anyone else experiencing these issues? ???

just a tip: uninstalling (as opposed to just deactivate) the behavior shield improves things quite noticeably. You can also get rid of other shields you don't use or don't find very useful. Every module removed means a driver removed, and a faster boot time. On my system, the behavior shield was the shield to take down before anything else.

Again these are just tips, feel free to experiment by yourself ;)

Good point.  I already removed the IM shield as I never IM.  Thinking about the P2P too.  I don't think I use that.  BehavShd I want working though.
