Services and Drivers Applet Fail
« on: November 07, 2004, 09:08:50 PM »
When running the Services & Drivers applet, an error is returned:

"Function call cannot be initialized" (or something similar)

How can I get the Services and Drivers applet to work?

System:
WinXP Pro SP2
AMD Athlon XP2600+
512 Meg Memory.

Could you provide more details, please? I still can't simulate this kind of malfunction. Does the application start normally and then it fails while running or it won't start at all?

There's probably a problem with loading data from your registry. I'll need your SYSTEM registry hive (a file %SystemRoot%\System32\Cofing\system). The application should be also more precise when reporting an error (this will be corrected in the next version).

The strange thing is that the Registry Editor works - or doesn't it, mooreted?
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving's not for you.

Yeah, the registry editor works. I emailed my system hive, hopefully that will help.

The registry cleaner works but only on some keys. It cannot delete all invalid keys.

It seems like a permission problem.
