[Resolved] Gadget in 1086?
« on: April 17, 2011, 01:56:18 AM »
I decided to try the gadget again. I have tried to change the set-up via the set-up pkg and add/remove. Then reboot. Still no gadget. Is it because I never installed the gadget in the first place? I did not do a clean install from either 6.0.1 to 1044 to 1086. According to VLK a clean install isn't required.  ???

this might help you

That can be the cause.

I'll suggest you to a fresh install and see if is everything right.
So far and afaik: nobody reported a problem of the lack of gadget.

Here's the thing. I deleted the AIS 1086 set-up file. Re-downloaded AIS 1086 set-up. Re-booted in safe mode. Used aswclear6.exe. Re-booted in normal mode. Ran both ccleaner and winutilities free. Installed AIS 1086 w/gadget. Re-booted still no gadget. Still can't find that file. Maybe it doesn't like me. That's sad when a set-up file doesn't like me.  :'(

I found it when I right clicked the avast UI after doing a fresh download and "clean" install. When I right clicked the UI to open the file location it was there. aswsidebar.gadget  I had to re-download the set-up file and start from scratch. Thanks again.  :)
