Yes, remove NAV first before installing Avast. Get RejZor's AEC util to remove NAV Download AEC

Hi Kathy, welcome to the forums.

As Eddy said you should remove NAV first, but you must use the windows add remove programs interface (for NAV) first before running RejZor's AEC tool.

RejZor's AEC, NAV removal tool only gets rid of what is left behind after NAV's uninstall program. If you use this first and then try to use the windows add remove that may fail.

Also make sure that you select the correct version of NAV 2003, 2004 when using RejZor's AEC tool.

In general my cleaner should clean some remaining items of NAV2003 too because many files/reg entries have the same name in all Norton versions.
But it was tested only on NAV2004.

THANKS EVERYONE!!! Now I know where to go with my questions!!
Your the best. I got norton uninstalled and Avast installed.
Of course Avast found a virus that norton didn't.
                 Thanks again

It is not surprising to most of us here that avast! found something Norton missed!    >:(

Hope you stay, learn more ... and help someone, too!    :)
