@ Ashish Singh,

FYI in future posts, just click the Modify button to add on to your previous post.  Thanks.  ;)

When you change versions of Avast, it is normal for the program to want to update to the most current definitions.  It appears from your screen shot that it was in the middle of doing this.  After the update was complete from a clean install, you should reboot if you had not done so already (from the clean install) and registered the product.

Is all working properly now?  If not, reboot and then open the GUI and check.

Updated via GUI found a minor problem which causes the GUI to freeze and I started a topic on it. Other than that everything seems to be cool  8) Avast loads in 15seconds - according to soluto 8)

Thanks for removing the social networking functions!! :D

Cheers!

Thank you for the information - the problem you reported has been already fixed,
it should not appear when installing build 1091 on clean system.

Although deleting mentioned registry entries is possible, I would recommend
to install and uninstall webrep feature to clean up everything.

Petr

i MAY have found a bug, but it MAY be some "problem" by design aswell...

i am running windows 7 x64 enterprise sp1 german edition and installed (some time ago already) avast free v6.0.1000
from scratch with the settings you can see on screenshot avset1 i attached.

now as you can see, i unchecked to install the web rep plugin, since i have no use for it (using WOT instead)

what i saw now with Autoruns v10.07 (screen avset2) is that there's still 2 .dll's being installed related
to this plugin, and i wonder, if this is a mistake/bug or wanted by design, since it's browser helper objects for IE?

my second question would be if i can safely remove those 2 entries without needing to worry that avast av wouldn't start anymore or not?

i know this is the thread for v6.0.1091 but the bug persists after upgrading to it aswell and i am for sure too lazy to install v6.0.1091 from scratch just to test, if this behaivor exists there aswell. just for info.

regards

Updated over previous version and working calm and quiet... Google Chrome WebRep working nicely. No conflicts found... But sometimes real-time scanning busy with large single files and delay executing them. But avast! is the BEST.

Thank you avast! Team.

So don't need to uninstall older version and re-install newer version.

Just update button from 5.0.677 version is o.k.?

Thanks.
