Which version of Avast are you using? Also you can use OA's "run safer" mode.

Avast 6.0
OA's run safer mode,,,,,hmmmm, didn't think of that.
OK, so no need to have sandboxie installed.
I'm assuming that sandboxie and avast's sand box are EXACTLY the same thing?

Which Avast? Free,Pro,IS? It is always a good idea to understand the programs you install. Why us them then? OA has a feature called "run safer". What it does is run programs under limited rights. Read more about it on there site or in the help file.

Now that you have modified your signature and we now know you are using the free version, you can't sandbox your browser. To do selective sandboxing you have to have the full sandbox function (not the auto-sandbox) in the paid pro/ais versions.

OA Run Safer is not a sandbox but rather a limited-user app. Auto-sandbox is differet..much like Comodo sandbox I think (not sure here). Have used both (though not long, still getting a feel of AIS)and I like OA un Safer bette so far. Had a bad experience with Avast sandbox earlier when I hit print(pdf printing) in FF 3.6.16..screen went black and FF crashed. I run Chrome via Run Safer all the time in my other pc.

Just use Sandboxie. Also you are on a 64 bit OS so any virtualzation software is limited due to patch guard.

Yeah nice alternative there. Sandboxie though is not freeware if you want to sandbox a couple of apps/browsers. BufferZonePro is now free. You can have a look at it http://trustware.com/BufferZone-Pro/.

BufferZone does not currently support 64 bit OS's but they are releasing a beta soon.
