Hi!

I'm keen on avast! starting from avast!4.8. up to now, avast! had more function than before and makes my laptop slower as well, so I hope that it can become lighter as before.

secondly,  I sent some false detection file to you, but the responses was too slow. after about a two weeks, the avast! still stated that it is a malware, whilst the AVIRA and AVG need less period.

Besides, I feel avast! need a particular function to lead the whole defence structure, as IDP and LINKSCANER of AVG, AHeAD of AVIRA, and sonar of norton. sandbox might a possible option, but some of my friend said it is not convenience. Most of them prefer to clean the thereat directly. simultaneously, sandboxie is a mature free product for someone who need that.

Finally, I hope you make a tool to make the "voice pack". The user just need double-click to install it for change the sound of alarm. I guess that it is benefit to make more people participating the sound making.

First I am sorry. I haven't read the whole thread.

Is it possible to build/make a special browser icon in desktop that's named for example "Google Chrome sandboxed" or something like that. Perhaps maybe a special icon?

So you can launch a sandboxed web browser right from desktop and don't need to search for the executable, right click on it and select run in sandbox. I know you can make avast to always open certain programs in SB but the icon works better :)

I only run the free version but you should be able to create a shortcut on your desktop.
Hopefully someone running the right version can jump in. :)

I tried something, but when I create a new shortcut of Chrome in the desktop and select to always run it in sandbox, then it applies to whole Chrome, not just that icon I made (because all Chrome shortcuts start the same process). Ideally, I would like to have a special shortcut which I can use to run Chrome in SB. If I don't want to run it in SB, I will run a icon from Start menu or something similar :)

I think SafeZone should be flexible, because there are many client softwares(like QQ) which request user to enter password. So I think the software in Safebox shouldn't be browser only.It should be added by users.
I hope Sandbox  could record the virus' behaviors. It can be useful when users judge whether a software is malicious.

SafeZone should NOT include more things. It's thought to keep everything out.
If you want to isolate other application, use the Sandbox (in the paid version).

Hi,

I can only agree with Tech here. If the SafeZone would for example receive an E-Mail/Instant-Messenger client, you would open it up for new viruses, which you would typically keep out, when you are doing things like online-shopping/banking and other things which relate to sensitive infor one. My personal opinion is that for example IM-chats almost never include such kind of really sensitive information, most of the time not even e-mails. Banks for example never send e-mails including login/user information to their clients or ask their clients by mail to fill out some "necessary information" like in most fishing cases.

SafeZone

Two items from the past relative to one current SafeZone request.

On my computer with dual monitors in the extended mode I was having two problems when in SafeZone.

1.  When I exited SafeZone my monitors went dim. I just applied an ATI driver update and the problem no longer exists.  I don't know whether it was an avast! update or ATI driver update or some other thing that resolved the problem.  In any case it is resolved.

2.  On my computer with two displays set in "duplication" mode the SafeZone desktop appears on both computers.  On my computer with two displays in "extended" mode the SafeZone desktop appears on only one display when the SafeZone desktop loads.  The other display remains dark.  However, I can create a second Window in Chromium and drag that window to the second display.  From there I can use both Windows independently.  So that works.

When the SafeZone desktop loads it has an ugly iron mesh like background with the SafeZone browser icon in the upper left.   The other display remains totally dark like it does when the monitor is turned off.

Request
When the SafeZone desktop loads I would like to see the second monitor when used in "extended" mode show the same SafeZone background as the first monitor, without the browser icon off course.

This obviously is not a high priority request. 8)

Incorporate Sandboxie in what way and where (Sandbox or SafeZone) ?
Do you really want to run a sandbox within a sandbox, I honestly don't feel that is advisable or necessary.
