Firewall driver not Windows Logo certified?
« on: April 19, 2011, 05:19:15 PM »
Vlk, some user is getting this warning when firewall driver is being installed (see attached image)

He said that it worked fine before but it started in beta build 1086 and same for official 1091. Were there any internal changes to this or do you maybe have any idea what might have caused this?

Definitely works fine here (i.e. does not prompt). I suspect the certificate catalogs may be somehow hosed on that computer?

Any idea how to quickly check it up or refresh it to the latest version? Or just recover it.

I've asked him to update root certificates though i don't htink these are related to Windows Logo. He also made SFC chedck and it said everything is fine. Any other idea?

Maybe a corrupt download of the Avast setup files? Let him download again and install right over the existing one...

Nah. If it was corrupted, installer wouldn't even run as it would fail internal integrity check (which i'm sure it has).

If you say so.
I just happen to solve another problem by having the OP download the installer again and rerun it - even though it installed on the first try, itr was running faulty.

Well, maybe just a coincidence with other things - I wouldn't bet my life on it. But why not try?
