These days it's becoming commonplace that you know if you can't update Avast, it's because they've released bad definitions for the web shield. To their credit, they are getting quicker at jumping on it
after it's already been released to the public...
You can see for yourself that they jumped on it earlier than previous bad updates as there are relatively few entries this time with:

The last time, the realtime search had pages and pages of people complaining about websites being blocked, and was being updated frequently with new entries. You can see the big blip of mentions of Avast on the last bad update on the 11th of April, 2011, look on the graph to the right:

Please - fix your quality control issues, as it makes us look silly to less computer-savvy people when we get them to change to Avast, and this keeps happening. It's getting a little bit silly, and is terrible publicity.
