IIS 5.1 SMTP Server & Avast AntiVirus Professional problem..

Hello, I have Windows XP Professional with ALL updates.
and i notice my IIS 5.1 SMTP Server wont start:

The service could not bind instance 1.  The data is the error code.

I have went to them websites an no help...

I Uninstalled Avast AntiVirus Professional and then IIS 5.1 SMTP Server Ran fine i also tried to disable Avast AntiVirus Professional an it still wouldnt boot...

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that this is simply clash between two SMTP servers, both listening (or trying to listen) on same port (25).

You should either instruct avast to listen on other port for mail-proxy scanner (see the docs) or instruct IIS to listen on other port. I would recommend you the former one.

Well i even disabled everything *Avast* it still wouldnt boot so i guess ill try changing port ..
