Update problems (Resolved )

For the last couple of days for some reason avast will not update.When i click on update after a couple of seconds it says "unable to connect to server".Not sure why this is,i have the free version of avast and there have been no changes to my pc which might have caused this.Just wondered has anyone any idea's ;D

Well the update servers have been working fine for me.

What version of avast are you using, the latest is 6.0.1091 ?

What is your firewall ?
Does it allow avast.setup internet access ?
- If it does delete the entry for it and reconnect to the internet, this should force the firewall to ask permission again.

Do you use a proxy to connect to the internet ?
If not - Try this also if the above doesn't make a difference - From the avastUI, Settings, Updates, Proxy Settings, set it to Direct connection (no proxy), see image.

Thanks for your reply and your help.I tried what your said about the firewall and Avast is updating fine now,so it looks like that's what it was after all.
