I've never experienced it.. but once  after repairing Avast, something similar was there, but I didnt mind it as it was a one time issue..

Try reinstalling Avast if the issue persists?

OR, try a repair of avast :

For W7 -

Control Panel  >  Programs  >  Programs and Features  >  click on avast  >  click on Uninstall/Change  >  click on Repair from the left pane  >  then folllow the steps.

Hi,

Did you updated avast! over previous beta version (6.0.1044)?

Cheers...

Yes I did repair but this issue does not happen daily rather rarely and I think its a bug as its already been reported by other users too...
My current version is 6.0.1091..
Anyway I just wanted to report this to avast people.
Sometimes the new update version is not shown properly instead it is showing something in XXX  (don't remember clearly)..

Thanks
Ash

if you updated over previous beta version there may be bug with beta servers... don't know exactly, but try fresh install of new version rather than updating over previous.

Cheers...

Many times a simple reboot fixes the problem.  Have you tried doing this?  Otherwise, then try a Repair, then reboot.

As I already said its not a permanent problem it happens only sometimes....

That's what some of us call an Avast hiccup (minor temporary glitch).  ::)

If this problem happens periodically like you said it could be a problem with your Java.

I would make sure that your Java is up to date and make sure that you don't have any *.dll files etc on your system from previous versions of Java.
