Thanks for all the help.

There was en error trying to install the Windows Recovery Console. Tried to do it twice, but no luck. I ran ComboFix anyway. I've attached the log file.

As of now, still getting the URL:Mail alerts.

OK that has given me a slight hint... What error do you get when you try to install the recovery console ?

Download aswMBR.exe ( 511KB ) to your desktop.

Double click the aswMBR.exe to run it

Click the "Scan" button to start scan

On completion of the scan click save log, save it to your desktop and post in your next reply

When I tried to install the recovery console, I got an insufficient disk space error. I freed up around 10 GB of space before trying again and received the same error.

The results of the aswMBR are:

I ran the Scan then Fix options. I tried to save a log from there, but aswMBR was Not Responding and it did note to reboot ASAP. So, I reboot the PC, then ran the Scan option again. I have attached the log file below.

I've had the computer on for a few minutes and have not received any of the URL:Mal alerts. Your help has been invaluable. I really appreciate it!

Subject to no further problems   :)

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so..The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset  System Restore points:

Click Start > Run  and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:

ComboFix /Uninstall

Run OTS and hit the cleanup button.  It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version of Java components and upgrade the application.

Upgrading Java:
  • Go to this site  and click Do I have Java
  • It will check your current version and then offer to update to the latest version

SPRING CLEAN

To manually create a new Restore Point

Download and run Puran Disc Defragmenter
For the first run I would recommend a boot defrag and disk check

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

Malwarebytes.  Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visit To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read our little guide  How did I get infected in the first place ?
Keep safe

Hello essexboy I am having the same problem as LoupGarou!

I'm going to post exactly what I received from OTS using those settings that you described:

The thing is the attachment only allows up to 200kb this one is 232kb so I uploaded to sendspace.com

http://www.sendspace.com/file/c646j5

Download OTS to your Desktop and double-click on it to run it

    * Make sure you close all other programs and don't use the PC while the scan runs.
    * Select All Users
    * Under additional scans select the following

Reg - Disabled MS Config Items
Reg - Drivers32
Reg - NetSvcs
Reg - SafeBoot Minimal
Reg - Shell Spawning
Evnt - EventViewer Logs (Last 10 Errors)
File - Lop Check

    * Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

netsvcs
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
/md5start
explorer.exe
winlogon.exe
Userinit.exe
svchost.exe
/md5stop
%systemroot%\*. /mp /s
hklm\software\clients\startmenuinternet|command /rs
hklm\software\clients\startmenuinternet|command /64 /rs
CREATERESTOREPOINT

    * Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar. Make sure not to use the PC while the program is running or it will freeze.
    * When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
    * Please attach the log in your next post.
-----------------------------
This was all done only after running TFC rebooting I also had made a boot time scan to see if there were more things to add to the chest. this is what was found:

null0.6609709583341652.exe Win32:Delf-OXZ [Trj]
owcnxmsare.tmp Win32:Downloader-HBF [Trj]
xwcsenoarm.tmp Win32:Hiloti-AY [Trj]

Do you think that with these ones my passwords of my emails in which I logged in can be compromised, someone can obtain the data?

Thank you

There is a possibility - it is always a good policy to change passwords after an infection just to be safe

Start OTS. Copy/Paste the information in the quotebox below into the panel where it says "Paste fix here" and then click the Run Fix button.

The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix.  Post that information back here

I will review the information when it comes back in.

THEN

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Hi essexboy,

I seem to have this problem too, although it's only the notification of the url:mal-problem, I haven't got a problem with the setup.exe-notification (maybe that has been removed by performing some previous scans or something?)

I attached the OTS-report from the scan that was described earlier in this topic.

Can you please have a look at it and help me out with this?

Many thanks in advance!
