Images in emails not showing up

For images, try disabling the web shield.

Try this

In Outlook 2007, click on Tools, Options, and then on the Security tab.

You should see that option: "Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail."?

Uncheck that and it'll do what you've asked for: display items immediately.

I unchecked it...but nothing.  Even restarted OL.

If you haven't tried this you could try to send an email with an image from a second email account if you have one.

Add your other email address to the Safe Senders list and then send an email with an image from your other email account.

I had been re-forwarding emails from myself to myself. I also just now logged into another computer and sent an email with an image and it didn't show up.  It did on the one that I sent it from.
Dang...what could be causing this??

Okay, now here we go:

Disable all shields for 10 minutes (right click on tray icon).

Check.

If same behaviour:

Boot in "Safe mode with networking" --> Avast is not active in safe mode

Check.

I disabled it completely and resent an email and that didn't' fix it. 

I'll have to reboot this afternoon or tomorrow into safe mode.  Need to continue working (this is a work computer).

It's got to be somewith the the exchange server??
I have one email account from a previous employee that it reads from the exchange server then my email is set up as pop3.  I just now sent a picture to the old email account on the exchange server and it did the same thing.
