Can't update
« on: October 09, 2004, 12:30:40 PM »
I get the following message when avast! autoupdates;

Information about current update:
Last encountered error: The license key for this product is invalid or
expired.
Total time: 9 s

I have applied successive license keys but to now avail. I did notice that for some reason my PC clock was showing the year 2050 (I certainly didn't change this myself) which I can accept may have confused Avast! but I have reset to the correct date and tried many times since with new license keys.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Toby

Welcome to this board.

- Remove Avast with the UNINSTALL UTIL
- Reboot
- Reboot again and enter the bios
- Make sure time/date are correct there
- Boot to Windows and install Avast

Let's see if that solves it

It's always good to sea a problem is solved. And by telling us, others will know this solution is working ;)
