« on: October 14, 2004, 04:10:08 PM »
I have used Avast!4 version 4.1.418 VPS 0442-2 14.10.2004.
Its detect a virus in a EXE files.
The name of virus is Win32:Worm [Wrm]
I'm nearly sure this EXE file is not infect.
Norton antivirus analysis of EXE don't find virus.
McaFee antivirus analysis of EXE don't find virus.

It's a false positive?

How can I understand who is right?

Hi,

did you PAUSE avast shield while scanning the file with other AVs ?

Please read virus removal below and come back with some more infos, e.g.:
- location/path/folder/filename of the "EXE"
- hijackthis-Log
- results of Onlinescanners KAV and RAV and Trend on the .EXE-file (with avast shield PAUSED!!)

--> if they all report nothing, please send it in to
virus (at) avast.com

- Best send it in a password-protected ZIP- or RAR-archive
- state that you suspect a false positive & supply system-description & archive password in the mailtext

 ;)

I have contacted the support. They confirm that is a false positive. Thanks anyway.
