11-22-2021 Tech for Seniors - Episode 87

Another enjoyable Monday viewed by a great audience.
We again covered a multitude of topics from Cyber Security to part 2 of the
Streaming services update. There was an episode on the Wayback machine website.
Google 2 factor authentication and a new feature in Chrome ver. 96.
The finally was a music segment and the show ended with a Q&A session to covered
various topics.

11-29-2021 Tech for Seniors Episode 88

Another well attended feature packed show.
We covered cyber security news, 2 factor authentication part 2,
setting up a Plex Media Server, bone conduction headsets, and
scams targeting holiday shoppers, followed by a music sequence that
usually ends the official show. A twenty min. Q&A session always follows
to conclude the episode.

November was another exciting month.
Again, my traveling was restricted to ZOOM
Actual traveling was pretty much local only.

12-6-2021 - Leisure World Computer and Technology Club, AZ - Remote

Today I was the guest speaker for this club. This was a hybrid meeting
The audience was fairly evenly divided. Thirty attended in person and
twenty-seven joined via Zoom.
The presentation was well received and was followed by a Q&A session.
Among the topics discussed during the session was Avast One's availability
Two factor authentication, and using Avast while out of the country.

12-6-2021 Tech for Seniors - Episode 89

It's Monday so it's a fun day and Tech for Senior.
Another feature packed show where we covered Cyber security News,
Facebook's Portal TV, Verizon Custom Experience, Web Site of the Week
(Scan Advisor), an explanation of YouTube Premiere, and
The dangers of Coin Helper and was followed by a 20 min Q&A session
that covered numerous topics.

12-9-2021 Durham PC Users Group, Oshawa,Canada - Remote

Tonight I remotely visited  Oshawa, Ontario, Canada and did a presentation   
for the clubs members. Only my virtual background had any snow.
We had some questions after the presentation on using multiple Av's.
There was also a question about an email conflict while using Avast that
without more details, I wasn't able to solve.

Another fun and information packed show.
Cyber security, rare earth mineral, super duper security for Edge,
Starlink update, Avast takes a look back at the most prominent threats of 2021,
and just before the Q@A session we had some holiday entertainment.

12-20-2021 Tech for Seniors - Episode 91

I love this Monday show. We again covered many topics including
Cyber Security News, setting up live transcription on Zoom, Dewey's
hunt for a bargain on a S21 5G phone, the radio garden website,
changes coming to google drive, and reminiscing with Elvis.
The show ended with a Q&A session covering several topics.

It was nice to see a good attendance even right after the Christmas holiday.
We covered our usual topics but spent most of today going over last years
predictions to see how accurate we were and we made our predictions for 2022.

1-3-2022 Tech for Seniors - Episode 93

Another well attended show. We covered a lot of topics.
I did a recap of the 2021 security news events,
we also covered sharing a Youtube video, 5G fixed wireless,
this person doesn't exist, and ended it with a musical segment.
If you look closely at the image, you'll see two of the attendees dancing.

1-7-2022 Deerfield Beach Computer Club, FL

The members of this club were the first to see 
my new presentation for 2022 Cyber-safety in the digital age.
The presentation was well received and we had some interesting
questions following the presentation.

1-10-2022 Tech for Seniors - Episode 94

We covered cyber security, update on the 5G C band airport controversy,
Covid and your smart watch, Plex server avd ripping DVD's,
music by the King Elvis ended the show. There were quite a few questions
in the Q&A session.

1-11-2022 Buttonwood Bay Bytes Computer Club, FL

Today I returned to a club I last visited in 2020.
Today's presentation was done remotely and took a bit longer
to complete because their internet had some glitches.
When their internet froze, so did my presentation and it resumed
once they reconnected.
The presentation was well received. Everyone learned something and had
some laughs.
We had some questions after the presentation regarding using Avast
as a replacement for Windows Defender and, a question about using Avast on a Mac.
They were both happy to learn that Avast offers excellent protection
on both operating systems.

1-17-2022 Tech for Seniors - Episode 95

Another great start to the workweek.
Today was the big debate for or against "Backing up your Hard Drive"
The vote was fairly evenly split 51% for and 49% against.
Both sides had some good arguments and, considering that most of our
work is now cloud based, the need for a backup isn't as severe any more as it was in the past.

1-17-2022 Bellaggio Computer and Technology Club, FL

This evening I remotely visited the members of this club in FL.
Needless to say, I would much rather have been there in person.
The presentation was well received and followed by a Q&A session.
The biggest discussion was in regards to crypto mining and the fact that
it was something available in Norton. The club is well aware of the upcoming
merger and hopes that it will never show up in Avast.
