What you see there is what you get if you share your geolocation to facebook or any application in it.

It is a scam.  They can figure out where you are with your (public?) IP address. I am assuming you live in India and that you also shared your location when signing up for facebook. They really should screen ALL of their ads because it is getting ridiculous.  ???

I live in India.... You can clearly see it...

But these type of questions which suddenly popup without any origin is somewhat freaky....
Thats why i reported this here so that i could get some suggestions..

And it has nothing to do with iobit fan page...

I'm not a facebook users but I believe there have been security breaches.  You may want to check out the Avast forum thread: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=52252.0 and also do a search.  Personally, the less information you put on the Internet, the better protected you are.  Social media is very public information.  In addition, IObit has a bad reputation (you can search that on this forum as well).  You should probably change your password on your facebook account and also notify facebook about this.

Wait... is that part of the 'Sponsored' ads or is it more of a pop-up?

I don't see a pop up at all. I see a Facebook Fan page.
Maybe if you explain what you mean by a pop up ???
What did you click on to make this website open ???

I know that. What I'm trying to say is Facebook, to borrow Julian Assange word, is an appalling spy machine that has ever been invented. About IObit fan page... well, you know the story about IObit...

Wait... is that part of the 'Sponsored' ads or is it more of a pop-up?

It's definitely ads or 'sponsored' ads. There's privacy option regarding what piece of information that you allowed to shared with the Facebook ads service. Geolocation is one of those piece of information that can be shared, and like many other option in Facebook  :) you need to opt-out for most of those rather than opt-in.

Probably looks just like my picture.
Maybe you inadvertently clicked on the link to their page.
If your FB privacy and security options are nailed down tight, I wouldn't think it anything to be concerned about.

For what it's worth, I've got mine tied down fairly tight.
I'm under no illusions that there is much actual privacy, though. All it needs is for a friend to "tag" you in a photo, and, if their settings are a bit loose, anyone on the net (pretty much) can see that photo, and any message exchanges to do with it.

If they bother to go looking, that is.

Things that I consider important are to not use the countless applications that seem to be made available.
I don't know how to make an app...never done it, but obviously a lot of users do.
Plenty of them appear to have a "viral" nature. Once you click "allow" you are letting an app, usually by someone you've never heard of, harvest your (fb) email list and your personal data. The link then posts itself to everyone on your friends list.

Plenty of apps appear quite benign. Quizzes, etc. They are not really entertaining enough for me to want to allow them, having done so previously. A few months ago I looked through all my permissions, and was a bit shocked at just how many apps I'd allowed. I went through every one of them and withdrew the permissions, and haven't clicked on one since.

That seems to work for me. It's up to you what you tie down. There are plenty of tutorials about it. Even FB has one.

I never knew this, but have to say I'm not surprised.

If you don't log out of FB and Twitter and then go to another site, even if you don't click the "like" or "twitter" button on that site, FB and Twitter still gather the info on the sites you visited.
