installing error: VC redistributable check failed, error 0x0000010B

I've tried several times to install last avast free edition on mi computer and there is no way. It always ends says An error appear during instalation.

The only error message in log is:
ERROR: VC redistributable check failed, error 0x0000010B

Download the installer from the official server and try again...

Same error by the moment.
I've also tried to reinstal vcredist in order to check it. Tried with 2008 and 2010 versions, normal and sp1. All with the same results and errors than before.

same results.
I had tested it, so it said to repair instalation. Anyway I have "repaired" it, to check.
and.... yes I have administrator rights.

This problem started when trying to update avast some days ago. It showed problems for updating, and as so, I uninstall and try to install again, but... always with this problem

No, I have had avast since avast 2 in this computer I think.

1. Follow instructions here: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
Do this for every..!! prior installed version of avast.
2. Reinstall the latest version.

finally I have installed avast successfully. After doing all these uninstalations and update windows xp with last updates (few updates), I have my avast running.

I've searched and worked on my pc for at least a week on this... nothing has taken me this long to figure out... even with help with all the forums.

Thanks for all of the ideas and suggestions.

Mine is finally fixed. 

1) I uninstalled ALL previous versions of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008/2010 Redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe)
2) Installed Avast Free
3) Windows Updates
