Hi. This is not the first time this has happened. First, my PC specs.
ASUS G53JW
Intel Core i7-740QM
6GB of RAM
1T HDD (500GBx2)
Nvidia Geforce GTX 460M (1.5GB on board memory)
Windows 7 Home Premium
Newest build of Avast with newest definitions.
Second, my external hard drives.
1x Seagate Desk 1.5T - HFS+ formatted.
2x Seagate Desk 1T - HFS+ formatted.
5 others that are mixed manufactures, different sizes, but all are NTFS formatted.
My problem is I get blue screens time to time from Avast when I plug in any of my external USB hard drives that have a Mac file system (HSF+). I use MacDrive to manage the file system but MacDrive is not the problem. The blue screen has one of the DLL files from Avast, I think ashServ.dll is the one. Most of the time it is an endless loop of blue screens until I unplug the USB drive. But here is the kicker, when this happens, Avast will blue screen on any USB drive no matter if it is a HSF+ file system or not. I have to remove Avast, and reinstall it. Some times I have to remove the USB 2.0 and 3.0 drivers form the system and let it reinstall them after Avast is uninstalled due to Avast missing the drivers up. This is not acceptable. Any help will be great. If you need the blue screen dump, let me know.
