This Website Needs Two Forums for Avast Free/Pro/Suite

1.  One for XP
2.  One for Vista/7

Reasons.

1. Vista/7 use an entirely different kernel than XP does.
2. Many of the problems here are unique to XP or Vista/7.

Yes there are some overlaps but as a Windows 7 user I really don't like opening a new post and sometimes reading a half or dozen posts within it before finding out that the user is using XP and that the problem is XP related.

I imagine since most people don't like change not initiated by themselves or one of the higher ups that they will oppose this idea.  I further doubt it will ever happen.  However, I needed to voice my opinion on this annoying situation.   Besides, one never knows. :)

We don't need 2 forums. We just need the person with the problem to tell us which operating system they use.  :)
Any other pertinent information that they pass along is also helful if a speedy result is expected.  ;D

Couldn't agree more, the last thing we need are more forums to further split the support forums. Next you will want separate forums for Free and Pro and AIS as they too are different. We have already seen a sea change in the introduction of the International Forums and that wasn't opposed, but it does bring its own issues.

This has nothing to do with not liking change or one of the higher ups opposing it, it is a matter of practicalities. I rather doubt that the problems expressed are all related to any different kernel. The same as any problem unique to a particular OS, I honestly don't feel that they are as widespread/common as you suggest.
