No, I took your (2nd) advice and did the registry patch.
To answer your question:
I DID try unchecking the 16-bit scan in Standard Shield, but to no avail.
I rechecked it and then tried the regedit solutions offered.
Now,
I remarked out the statement in the config.nt file and although I still get the same error, if I hit Ignore, the program DOES load and run. It takes an extra click but I can certainly live with that if necessary.
Should I somehow 'undo' the registry patches?
Might that eliminate the error and keep the program running?
