Manual update without Internet
« on: May 26, 2011, 05:10:36 AM »
Hello!

I've found several topic about this problem, but didn't found complete solution. The most useful was http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=56584.msg477213#msg477213

Here is one difficulty.
Could you please explain how can I use avastvpsreload? I found two libavastengine packages in avast folder (I'm using Ubuntu 10.10)

/usr/lib/avast4workstation//lib/libavastengine-4.so.7
/usr/lib/avast4workstation//lib/libavastengine-4.so.7.0.5

But I don't know how to run avastvpsreload from it. Should I extract it or smth? Trying
Code: [Select]
sudo /usr/lib/avast4workstation//lib/libavastengine-4.so.7

Result: "Segmentation failed".

Thank you.

- install it (restart avast, OR use avastvpsreload utility, which is in the libavastengine package)

running shared engine library doesn't make sense. avastvpsreload has its own help, just run the reload utility with -h. in general, argument is the path to the to-be-replaced and to the new 400.vps file.
