Win32:Ramnit-G
« on: May 29, 2011, 02:26:28 PM »
So a few weeks ago I had a serious infection, it was Win32:Ramnit-G and Avast and MBAM couldn't keep up with it. Literally infected 1000's of my files an hour.

As suggested on this forum I did a clean install of windows and that should of got rid of it.

I did a scan the day I got my PC back from the repair shop, and it had a worm on it, so I moved it to the chest, did a boot time scan and low and behold, it found 7 Win32:Ramnit-G's, I moved them to the chest.

I was under the impression that reinstalling windows was the way to get rid of it.

However, I've done several scans with Avast and MBAM since and found nothing, when I was infected 1000's of my files were infected each day.

The first thing I did when  I got my PC back was to install Commodo Firewall and Avast Antivirus.

So, do you think I'm still infected with this virus?

If you did bring it to a repair shop, they should fix it for you for free, imo.

lets take a look ...

@needassistance
Download DDS and save it to your Desktop from here:
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr

Double click dds.scr to run the tool.

    * When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
         1. DDS.txt
         2. Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop. Attach DDS.txt back to topic.
