Avast! Internet Security won't install properly

It starts to install itself and then when it gets to avastss.scr it stops and starts uninstalling itself

you have uninstalled your previous used AV program before installing avast! ?

I tried, it was symanteic endpoint protection and i used a file called cleanwipe.

I also have malware anitbytes installed and i don't know if that would cause a conflict.

I just tried installing it in safe mode and that seemed to work but i don;t know if i broke something by doing that yet lol.

I get the same problem.

My old antivirus product is Bitdefender.

I uninstalled it and applied the "BitDefender_Uninstall_Tool" before installing Avast Internet Security.

What can I do  !

 After uninstalling BitDefender and before installing Avast, have you done a reboot?

You could try repairing Avast from the "Add/Remove..." Control Panel.

If that doesn't work, download again the setup.exe of Avast and the Clean Uninstall tool from http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility and run that uninstall utility from Windows Safe Mode.

Once uninstalled, reboot into Normal Mode, close any unneeded programs and run the downloaded Avast setup.exe (the new one, don't use the previous one). Once the installation finished, reboot.

After using the removal tool for old antivirus programs, you can go into search --all files & folders & search for the old product, remove what may be left behind.
If you are confident go into start  run or command prompt--- Type regedit  click ok HKEY CURRENT USER Click on +  sign scroll down to software click on + sign look for the name that associates your old antivirus then right click delete. You can also check HKEY LOCAL MACHINE----Software
