MSCREATE.DIR can't be deleted
« on: October 20, 2004, 03:08:07 AM »
Hi All,

Have found this a few times.  When using the Junk File Remover, I am unable to delete the mscreate.dir files it detects as being junk files. When they exist, there are normaly about 20 or so of them.

JFR also finds 2 .tmp files in the c:\windows dir that it says it can't delete. I can remove these no problem with Salamander.
c:\windows\set3.tmp
c:\windows\set7.tmp

Cheers  :D

Change the attributes of those files firts. They are set to rah and it looks like Salamander does change them before removing and the other one not.

Thanks Eddy,

Was more pointing it out to the developers in case they (please) wanted to modify the software to either ignore the files or to force the deletion.

cheers

Question about set3.tmp:

I am trying to remove a program thru control panel and it freezes up.  When I go to the Task Manager it shows that CPU Usage is at 100% and the process taking up the most memory goes by the Image Name Set3.tmp.

What is this and how can I get rid of the program?  I was thinking of deleting the keys from regedit but i don't know if that would mess up my comp.  I also spoke to the software distributor (Verizon) and they don't know what to do.

Please help . . .

Doconc77, are you talking about Bart CD boot or normal Windows operation?
