virus warnings after repair is made
« on: October 21, 2004, 06:47:19 PM »
I  know I probably should have gotten the specific name of the virus involved before I started writing this but I'm  think it was a WINNbeagle32trojan, well anyway, after Avast found it I clicked repair, it then continued its scan onward and upon completion showed me the outcome of the action, which was repaired.  Now I ran another scan the next day and got the same warning for the very virus that was to have been repaired!!  Is this normal?  Why send an alert if the problem was corrected?

You can see the name of the infected file, location, name of the infection adn the action taken in Avast's log file.

If what you are experiencing is normal or not, can't be answered with the info you provided. It could be you are already infected again, did not remove the infection properly etc.

Is your system security setup corectly?
Is your system up-to-date with all security patches/updates?
Do you use a firewall?
