SBC ver.1.0.15.0 (Installation problem)
« on: June 17, 2011, 05:47:04 AM »
Dear All,

During on SBC installation process, the mirror progress accidentally stuck and didn't ran anymore.

Then i try to re-install, but didn't successful and i was tried to found how to uninstall SBC from the system by manually also can't found the list of SBC installation on Add/Remove programs list.

I tried to delete the directory of Avast Software on :

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVAST Software

C:\Program Files\AVAST Software

Then i tried to re-install, and always got notification as attached picture.

My question :
1. How to uninstall installed SBC on the system?
2. Whether we should completed mirror update during on SBC update?
3. How to fixed the problem, meanwhile each i re-installation always got nofitication "The avast! Administration Console Setup Wizard ended prematurely" ?

Anyone have a similar problem as me before?

cheers,

i have had this one time too when i was testing....

because i had the time for it i did a manual cleaning of the system

deleted all files i could find in the program files directory the pogramdata directory and the user profile directory (had luckely only 1 profile).

next to that i cleaned the registry (probably where your problem lies) of all i could find from avast  (the search key was avast)

Hi WPN,

Thanks for your advice,

I did removed everything related with avast software in directories (untill hidden directory on Document and Settings directory as well) and registry, but still facing with the same issues. And i also reboot my OS Win Xp after cleaned the directory and registry, but still got same notifications.

That's way i am looking for your advice, just in case you ever have the same problem and can resolved this issues as well.

cheers,

you might have overlooked directories if your sure your cleaned the registry

you checked all directories

in program files?
in the user profile?

have done this on Win2k8 R2  so im not sure where SBC places files on XP machines

Hi WPN,

I am still facing the same issues even i already remove the components such as Avast Software directory at :

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

C:\Program Files

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data

Also on registry i already removed the directory which contains Avast Software :

HKCU >> Software >> Avast Software
HKLM >> Software >> Avast Software

And still got the avast! Administration Console Setup Wizard ended prematurely (attached picture)

Hi,
could you run the installer with "/lv* install.log" parametr? It will produce a log file that might help to find out what's wrong with your installation.
Quality is also a feature.

Hi Lukas,

Finally, I found the install.log and service.exe config and i uploaded to mediafire :

hxxp://www.mediafire.com/file/n0lsal9ec36crj9/Avast.Sbc.Service.exe.cfg

hxxp://www.mediafire.com/file/v8bc5bc9h3l9eu9/Avast.Sbc.Service.exe.config

hxxp://www.mediafire.com/file/dmgke134c92bb4k/Avast.Sbc.Service.InstallLog

Please kindly advice, this also happened with another system and always notified that the installation progress is premature.
