Mozilla released Firefox v5 in June 21, 2011.....

The features are the same but more patches and fixes in security holes....

And Avast web rep is not compatible in Firefox v5. I guess the update comes soon.... ;)

Ok, thats weird. At work, FireGesture is declared incompatible. At home, it works fine with FF5.

Their an easy fix to allow the down grade extension to work on FF5 while you wait for the new to come out.

1. Click onto tools and then click onto Adds-on.

2. At the top middle screen where you see the word about:addons, type in about:config click on the tab button.

3. Right click button on your mouse and select new and than pick boolean, enter the preference name to extensions.checkCompatibility.5.0 and then pick false and your done close the adds-on section and FF and run FF again.

4. Go back and check if your old extension set to enable while you wait for the new version become available ;)

5. OR reinstall the old extension.

Enjoy

There is an easier way: Add-on Compatibility Reporter

It's strange that addons developers do not pay attention to Firefox updates... The FF updates are announced with a lot of anticipation... Can't teams work together?

Trusteer Rapport doesnt work on FF5. Neither McAfee SiteAdvisor for "Security & Stability" reasons :(
But FF5 is even faster ((a bit more) than FF4.0.1 (may be due to those add-ons disabling:SiteAdvisor & PcTools BrowserDefender!) ;D

I bet that if you disable all of the add-ons, Firefox would be a real speed demon.  ;D ;D

You can disable them. Or not install them.

No, you never could resist an infantile remark, Bob.

Very true though. Chrome is a lot faster and so is IE9 for that matter.

I also found an interesting article about how Mozilla is disregarding the enterprise browser market.

I have to dialog with network admins... believe me, they hate updates and increase of work... Yeah, they look for stability, so IE get the business market while we, users, like Firefox improvement :)

If you live long enough Frank you'll lear that there is a difference between
reaching your second childhood and being infantile.
