I hope that, still this is a beta version, this thread stay at the top (stick) so the users can read. There are some that ask me by IM, email or in the forums about the new features  8)

does anybody know how can i make avast not popup a window when a virus was found during a virus scan ? So that it continues scanning... I checked in the confirmation options but I couldn't find a suitable one ???

Left click the 'a' blue icon.
It will start On-access protection

Click on Standard Shield and then on Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and select Silent Mode and the default answer No.

Do the same for the Internet Mail provider.

And - new in 4.5 - in Outlook/Exchange as well...

Add me to the group eagerly waiting for the final release. since it's only another day and a half away, give or take (I haven't played with the beta).

One question about the new mail protection (I use Eudora off my ISP's POP server).  Will I need to run the Mail Wizard to remove mail protection and restore Eudora to its pre-avast server settings before installing 4.5, or is that automatically done as part of the installation process?

I guess I can probably assume the Mail Wizard won't even exist anymore afterwards, since it's essentially no longer needed.

If you used the Mail Wizard to set up your accounts, then yes, the updater will automatically restore the patched server addresses / credentials (127.0.0.1 etc) to its original state.

Of course, if you've set them up manually, you'll have to restore them manually. :)

Also avast! 4.5 will have a Decompression Bomb detection. Most probably only for mail scanner,but i'm not sure if it will have for Standard Shield too.

It's not necessary only in Windows 2k/XP.
Anyway, it's still there (ashPopWz.exe) and if you execute it, you'll receive a message it is not needed  ::)

If really needed, you can put a special line into avast4.ini (AutoRedirect=0) which should restore the old behavior of the mail protection / Mail Wizard.

Oh.ok then i'm just a little  dissapointed becouse my proccesor is only 633 Mh and it's not recommended heavy windows like Xp.So i won't be able to use some of the improvements but...big deal thats the life.

Windows 2000 should work just fine. Just make sure you disable all unnecessary visual "crap". Unless you have really small RAM amount...

Hello !
So I changed few days ago my client mail (foxmail) to Incredimail to be sure that all mails where analysed.
So it was god for all servers (yahoo, wanadoo, tiscali)
Now, with this new version, yahoo is not working. I think that because the special pop server of yahoo is call pop.mail.yahoo.fr, not like other pop.xxxxxx.fr
Could you tell me if this is a bug or sommenthing else cause, with the last version, it was good !
