Mail Proxy w/Non Standard Ports
« on: October 23, 2004, 05:23:35 PM »
I have a proxy server running on 192.x.x.2 and another machine on 192.x.x.3 .  My .3 machine's Outlook Express was set to use 192.x.x.2 as both the SMTP and POP3 mail servers on ports 4425 and 4110, with mapped links to go to my ISP's mail servers.  It worked fine till I installed Avast.  Now it can't connect for some reason.  Avast changed the POP3 and SMTP servers to 127.0.0.1 (in order to go through it's own mail proxy I assume) and the username to include 192.x.x.2 with the "#" delimiter in between the username and it.  How do I get Avast to use the non-standard ports I need?

I think the best you can do now is test the beta version 4.5.
The email protection has changed a lot and it's easier now.
See details here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=8033
