Personally I would get rid of the Outpost anti-spyware module completely as it gets in the way on occasions wanting to report suspicious files. The on-demand scanner shouldn't need an exclusion, but it does appear that even with the spyware detection disabled there is something still running in the background.
I was disappointed in Agnitum, having elected for the compatibility mode and actually unchecked the anti-spyware and web control modules to find this still in the background, given the level of protection I already have. I have always said that all I want in my firewall is to be a very good firewall and not attempt to be a jack of all trades.
So I had to uninstall Outpost Firewall Pro 7.5 and reboot, then I did a custom install to ensure that the anti-spyware and web control modules weren't installed.
Now in the proactive protection, etc. there is no anti-spyware or web control.
