Another FP ?
« on: October 24, 2004, 04:50:29 PM »
Home verion 4.5 Beta.  (current version 0443-3)

This wasn't detected during a boot scan but was detected in a normal scan.  I know the file is genuine as it comes from Panda.

Panda is known to keep unencrypted virus signatures inside their files.
So yes, it is a false positive, but we won't fix that one.

Thing that bothers me is why is DLL located inside EXE file ???
Some sort of crack maybe? Or another unprotected panda file ::)

As we keep telling people, it is never advised to have two av applications on one system, many times they conflict and only are causing troubles. Remove Panda and use only Avast.

It is also known that due to the way Panda encrypt/code their files, it leads to false positives by other av applications as you can see HERE

Thanks for that.

I don't use 2 AVs though, that is just the Panda install folder.  Certainly not a crack either as it came direct from Panda website.
