4.5 freezing my pc

twice I restarted my computer 'cause it's freezing as the screen saver starts  ::)
I use Eddy's tractors screen saver. avast set to create the VRDB when the pc is idle.
how to fix it?  ???

Freezing?! :-\

This is Win98, right?

How does it freeze anyway? Immediately after the screen saver activates? And is it a "hard" freeze - ie. you have to power cycle the machine afterwards?

win98se..
yes, it's a hard freese. No mouse cursor, no Ctrl+alt+del. Just power off then back on again.
it happens just after a few pics..

And are you sure it's VRDB that's causing it? I mean, does the VRDB generation really starts when the Screen-Saver appears? If you set "Disable VRDB generation", the problem goes away and the screen-saver works normally?

I admit I'm not much into screen-savers... so can you tell me what "Eddy's tractors" is? You don't have avast! screensaver set, right?

Eddy's tractors is just a normal screensaver I created. It shows pictures and plays a little music. Nothing fancy, just a plain screensaver.
