Someway to run avast! without a skin.
« on: October 29, 2004, 08:38:10 PM »
Is it possible to run avast! without a skin? I chose custom installation and unchecked the skin-box but I seem to have a skin anyway and there's no way to disable it. It'd be superb if all parts of this excellent app could use windows own "skin".

Thanks in advance!

Start Avast > Menu > Setings > Common > uncheck "enables skins for simple user interface" > Close Avast > Start Avast again.

That's all you have to do.

I don't have that option. I use avast! 4.1

This is what the Common-screen says:

* Test memory during application start-up

* Check floppy disks...
* Check CDs in drive...
* Check other removable media...

* Enable skins for Explorer Extension (wich, by the way, is unchecked)
* Exit Explorer Extension when first virus found
* Show results of Explorer Extension

Wait for avast! 4.5 Final. Or start using avast! 4.5 beta.
This new version features skinless interface.
