Sits back waiting for the bun fight to start.

The safest browser is Netscape  ;D

Seriously speaking, the safest is no one

Out of these no one

Firefox might have the crown because of NoScript

Oops...I have this habit of editing after posting...I will overcome this habit...SpeedyPC..I didn't see your post...only saw it after i edited.

btw, the Mosaic thing was not serious, I don't think anyone will begrudge you not including it in the poll (I was surprised you included Netscape, actually, which lead me to think, "what is older than Netscape?....) ;)

Yes, ANYTHING is older than Netscape... I deleted it off because I was thinking that a minority might use it. After all, it used to be a major browser, you know.... heh.

bob3160, that's what happens when you're browsing through Avast! forums at 10.30pm, after having a craptastic day.  ::)
Nothing's useless if you look at it from another angle.

I must say it's ALSO the User who is browsing through. Going onto too much of the "red sites" definetly doesn't increase your security  ;D

I actually had a fantastic day as is evident in this post. :)
Since the meeting started at night and the trip back to the hotel took over 3 hrs.,
it was fairly late when I was able to get back onto the forum.
As long as your software is up to date, Any of the major browsers are "safe".

That rather ignores the fact that different browsers may have different vulnerability issues on any particular date. An up-to-date browser with a zero-day vulnerability being exploited by in-the-wild malware would certainly not be as safe as other browsers.

Once gain you are putting ideology over evidence-based assessment of risk.
