Is this for all Avast users or just for the German ones?

Me I'm a trusting sort NOT and there is no way I would give out my details in this way to an unknown site (regardless of it supposedly being an avast reseller) just to get a time limited free pro/ais license.

If you go through the raymond.cc link I have given, you can see that you don't even have to enter the details. He has directly given the link to download the license key.. Avast free is enough of for me. I will buy it when I start working until then its free for me.

I didn't get any answer to the main question if this is legal? Was this action authorised by AVAST Software?

whilst it is a possibility that an avast reseller might get a limited deal like this to grow the business in an area.

I would have though that it should be restricted to customers in his area or it would be unfair on other avast resellers.

So I would say that only sales at avast can answer the question on legitimacy of a) the offer and b) to whom it should be offered.

Russian-speaking users say this action is not limited. They tried and got licences from that reseller though they typed in e-mail addresses from RU zone (like Mail.ru and others).

Agreed. Everything else is blind guessing... ;)

I rather doubt they have any sort of filtering as presumably the process is automated, you give your details and an email is sent.

The actual email address isn't a very good means of deciding where the user is as it is easy to get email addresses, so they would have to capture the IP address you used when completing the form (easy) and ensure it is geographically correct for the offer. That means work and they probably don't want to turn away possible future customers who might purchase at the end of the free period.
