i use Online Armor Free 5.0. It is lite, fast, no need settings, but very effective.
Comodo too hard, too big and too slow.
I tried OA Free. I had issues with it so I went with Comodo Firewall in Firewall Only installation and I have to say it works like a charm. I haven't found it too hard, big or slow.
So from a quick scan of this, I take it that PrivateFireWall works well with Avast 6?
I guess what it boils down to is that you actually test each one out and then settle on the firewall that works best for you.
Seriously, do this:
1. take an image of your computer with something like Macrium Reflect Free or Paragon Backup and Recovery (the free edition).
2. make sure you've burned the appropriate boot cd's that will allow you to load your image after doing the testing
3. Trial out the following by installing the program, testing it out, then imaging your pc with the image you took before testing the next one in line:
- Windows 7 Firewall (if you are using Windows 7)
- Comodo Firewall (with and without Defence+):

Once you've decided which one to go with and the settings you are happy with - image your pc then install the firewall (unless you are on Windows 7 using Windows 7 firewall of course) and set it up with your desired settings.
As you can see - there are a lot of different opinions on here.
You have to go with what works for your particular situation.
