RESIDENT MBAM PROTECTION ALONG AVAST RESIDENT PROTECTION

I am all mixed-up tonight. We have antispyware capabilities in our AVAST RP or not? In Action Center in Win 7, Avast Spyware module is on  whilst Outpost Security Suite and WD are off and I think it's OK. So, why should I leave MBAM RP ON. Wouldn't it conflict?  I read on AVIRA's forum they recommend to use MBAM on demand only. Too bad if I got the license...

Yes, avast is an antimalware (virus + spyware).
MBAM is compatible with avast afaik. Maybe mutual exclusions only will solve the problems (if any).

I have MBAM Pro installed on both my systems without problem with avast.

I also don't have any exclusion in avast for mbam files or folders, but I do have the c:\windows\temp\_avast_ folder added to the mbam Ignore List.

Sorry, Tech. Yes, RP is for "Resident Protection" and since it is disabled in the Control Panel System Security/Action Center for Windows Defender (WD) and my brand new Outpost Security Suite 7.1.1 free, I was wondering why I was leaving the MBAM RP ON as it may interfere with the RP of AVAST in terms of antispyware and malware protection. Or am I getting paranoid...?

I Agree. Mine too (MBAM with RP...) was working well with all kinds of AV. Point I want to highlight is that since MBAM RP is not recognized in Action Center Control Panel (Win 7 64 bits) while the ones that are recognized are automatically disabled by Windows, shouldn't you think that by leaving MBAM RP ON we have less (more interference) of a protection with the AVAST RESIDENT PROTECTION which includes a spyware component. I mean I can't switch the resident protection for antispyware signatures in Avast off. Is it better than the MBAM one. Since I already paid for the Pro version of MBAM, I'll leave the RP ON but exclude AVAST and MBAM manually for security reasons. May be it'll do the trick.

Point I want to highlight is that (i) since MBAM RP is not recognized in Action Center Control Panel (Win 7 64 bits) while(ii) the ones that are recognized are automatically disabled by Windows,

(i) Agree - MBAM Pro is not recognised by my W7 Action centre either.
(ii) W7 Action centre has never automatically disabled any antispyware on my machine. The only circumstance I am aware of when it might do this is if you install MSE - then I believe it would disable WD.

Have you tested an actual infection? Did MBAM ON ACCESS detect it first or at the same time that AVAST. Only technicians know. We take chances our malware passes through as we really don't know how the two RP interfere.

Iv had MBAM detect things in realtime that avast did not and also vice versa so i believe its wise to keep both running, never had any conflict between the two.

It's highly recommended that you create another layer of protection beyond Avira, assuming that you just have Avira Personal or Avira Premium installed. Then, you must have a ‘good firewall’ and should have a second layer of protection. This second layer could be composed with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, SUPERAntiSpyware or any other on-demand antimalware software and a browser with good extensions for a safe browsing. Also you can well have the malware also included in the two softwares signature.

What does this have to do with Avast
