Is this the correct way to upgrade from 4.8 to 6?

I have a friend that is still running 4.8 Pro.  I would use this link http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php to get is 4.8 key resent to him and them use this link http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php to convert it to 6.0.  Then I would just install the 6.0 license into Avast 6 Pro right?
