Look in your screensaver section...avast! gives you one
you never asked for...LOL

I hear ya my brother and my point being
and I have stated several times now
DONT want it..did not ask to install it
and of all the savers in the whole wild world
its not the prettiest
see image all can be removed but little ol' avast

Yes..I did install avast! anti-virus FREE
no where did I tick ..select...or ask for a screensaver
for my pc!!
Yes..its not really the biggest or most important
thing I have on my mind on a lazy Sunday afternoon
in the middle of a great 85 degree day here in sunny
Kiezer Oregon.....

Maybe you can disable the avast self defense module (Troubleshooting tab of settings).
Delete the file.

But I'm almost sure that a repair/upgrade/reinstallation will bring it back.

The short answer is that it isn't installed (as in running), it is just part of the overall avast installation, it is just an inert file, that if you wish to run screensaver scans, that is what is used. It is an avast scanning feature, the ability to have avast scan your system when the screen saver is running.

If you haven't enabled a screensaver in windows and further still haven't selected the avast screen saver then it won't be run and that 40KB file will sit waiting on you to enable it.
