Question about "total time logged in"

Does the forum server consider you still "here" for a while after you leave the site without logging out? I've got "remember me" ticked in my options so I don't have to bother logging back in when I arrive.

Lately I've noticed that my total time logged in, as shown at the top of the front page, often seems to have jumped by up to 30-45 minutes from the previous day, even if I'd only been onsite 10 or 15 minutes.

Not a crisis, obviously, just curious.

I think that there is a period of time before your session considered inactive, so it would be the time you were on the forums plus that period of inactivity, which if I remember is something like 15 minutes.
