Cannot install on my Dell
« on: October 29, 2004, 03:07:22 AM »
Everytime I download the "setupeng" file I get the same response from my Dell Inspiron 3500 -
Setup Selfextract
 An error has occurred
Last performed operation was:
extracting main.exe

I have AVAST! on a desktop computer at my parents house, wanted to put it on mine and this is all I get. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for any response

Clear your browsers cache folder.
Remove everything in \windows\downloaded program files\
Remove everything in \windows\downloaded isntallations\
Delete the download

Download Avast again and see if it works

Have you tried Dell support to see if there is a bios update for your machine?

Tried the suggestions here on my Compaq since I'm getting a simular error and it still failed.  PS: my bios for my computer has been updated to the latest...  If anyone can suggest something to make Avast work.
