My last 3 systems have been HP. The one I'm using now is a HP Pavilion p6610f Desktop PC. The only changes I've made is to upgrade the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB and to add USB 3.0.

The one brand I would NEVER own is E-Machine, I've had to work on too many of them.

I have never seen an Emachines laptop but I and my friends and family have had 6 of their desktops and never had a single problem with any of them. If you don't get the Walmart models, which use cheaper components than the ones you get elsewhere, they're not bad machines at all.

E-Machines come with major bloatware.  ::)
The cheap components make them affordable for the un-educated masses.
I have spent many hours removing all their bloatware.
Why do you think the Wallmart sells them at such a cheap price ???
Especially Intel Celeron systems.

They don't come with any more bloatware than other manufacturers like HP. As I said, the Walmart models are special ones built to be sold for less than their usual offerings that you can get at places like Best Buy, Office Depot, etc.  I also can tell you that Walmart sells those machines at cost or sometimes less than cost. I worked there for 5 years and had access to those figures. I will admit though that since Acer took over Gateway, and by extension Emachines, they have returned to the bargain basement machines they originally were. Under Gateway, they were somewhat better.
