avast freeze after detecting 10000+ virus

hi guys, yesterday i scan my friends USB flashdisk, and detect about 10000+ virus, and when i choose action to delete why my computer become freeze/not responding and i must wait several minutes until avast clean that flashdisk, is this normal? i installed avast several years ago thats why i never had many virus like this ;D, my computer is 100% clean, thanks to avast... ;) so i never have this experience until yesterday.. so anyone can explain to me ??

So what was on the USB, sounds like a load of samples ?

With those kind of numbers, I don't know if that would also swamp your systems resources.
