Adobe Reader 10 within Sandbox
« on: August 23, 2011, 01:29:12 PM »
Following on from (still unresolved, but I now cut and paste link as recommended) problems reading PDF files within a Sandboxed browser (FF6.0, XP SP3)I just had problems reading PDF files within the Sandbox, but clear of the browser. Symptoms are:

1) run Adobe Reader X within Sandbox
2) Two separate AcroRd32.exe processes appear in Task Manager and under the AIS Sandbox "processes currently running virtualised" screen
3) Close down Adobe from its own screen
4) Both AcroRd32.exe processes remain (waited for at >1 minute, but no change) - one of them taking 50% CPU, the other 0%
5) If a new PDF file is now read, I have 4 AcroRd32.exe processes running and 100% CPU usage.
6) (Having learned to have TM or AIS up and ready!) If I kill one of the processes from within AIS then 2 actually disappear and 50% CPU returns

All is "normal" if I run Reader outside sandbox.

Any thoughts?  Am I doing something daft, or is this a Sandbox feature?

Thanks

Adobe Reader X has its own built-in sandbox. ;)
