I don't know. There is something with the updating process and maintenance. I stayed online for more than 18 hours today, got my usual 2 VPF today but on my latest manual check (21h30) after the log on 'cause I was in the garden no update could initialize (last checkecked 18h30). Why??? Mystery! ??? I just booted and now everything is working fine. Anyway, I won't be paranoid checking if the update process checks VPS at intervals or not, to me this is a bug. :o

The activity of avast's script shield in Firefox 7 Beta 3 is a lot lower than Firefox 6 O.O""

It also appears to be a bit lower in Beta 3 as opposed to Beta 2.

However, the number of scans still appears reasonable.

Hm...for me it is considerably lower...before when I surf the net, I can get up to 20 000 scanned scripts but now it fall around 2000 (Just an example it is not exact)

Are you comparing comparable websites over a comparable time period?

I run several real-time scanning programs and two of them AIS and product x are the only two that report scanned scripts.  I reset the counter on product x every night and of course the history numbers in AIS can be viewed for the day's activity.   With Beta 2 AIS was generating about 15% - 20% more scanned items in their history graph than product x.  Now AIS is showing about 5% more items scanned over a specific period of time.  Of course that could be due to my surfing locations though I rarely change them much from day to day.

I don't seem to have any problems with the latest beta apart from the ugly popups that i didn't like from the beginning... Seems stable enough. I just hope Opera support for Script Shield will be added soon (if possible).

Hmm, yeah, even i wish for it. But then i wonder if this setting will work.

- Web Shield: scanning of all processes can now be disabled in shield's Expert Settings

I second the request that Script Shield be available for Opera users.

Real-time Shields with "Shield Logs" on the traffic graph GUI.

Slow on the uptake here :-[ but I just noticed the following.  Using FF 7.0B3

The graphs for the Real-time Shields are showing activity however the "Shield Logs" (to the right of "Show Traffic History" are empty.

Would it be possible to change the color from white to black of the numbers in the yellow square in the graphs (statistics). I mean, white on red ok, but white on pale yellow, even a "sniper" can't see it. Please change it now!!! :D

Opera is a seriously good web browser.  It is very pleasant to use and has a long record of exceptionally few security issues.  The remark about the modest user base is accepted but the corollary of that is that Opera is rarely a target for exploits.

Opera Software ASA always responds promptly to those issues which very occasionally arise.

In all the nearly ten years that I have used Opera, I have never (yet) suffered a single security issue or incident with Opera.

Naturally, I expect to be 'tail end Charlie' with browser specific improvements from Avast but Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro 7.5.1 works extremely well with Avast and so I now have Web Control as an additional layer of defence.  I am not complacent but neither do I lose any sleep.

That is because nothing has been found (presumably) only detections (as is indicated by the column headings in the display) it doesn't record OK files in the same way other shield log don't.

It's better than the old "More info" button but still looks ugly and out of context. Just doesn't feel right. Can't this be done properly so it looks consistent with the rest of the GUI ? Plz!?

If you ask me a simple "click this popup for more info" on the bottom of the popup with white font would do it. Same size and font type as the rest of the popup, not thiss big ass thing.

i agree with this

I wouldn't mind seeing a "?" box under the Avast in the grey area.
