I think the cause is in the new update of avast engine or definition update. I was disconnected to the internet for almost 3 weeks and by the time I connect again today and update the engine and definition, the problem with MPC occur. When I update MPC to 7.70 , the problem still exist.

I was having this problem too after installing a new version of K-lite codecs. I just kept going into the player and adding file extensions for anything Avast flagged to go to sandbox. That worked. I think it's just having an issue if you havent associated a particular file extension with anything.
